Hedge Fund Operations Tech Lead

Location: Zurich, Switzerland

We are looking for a driven, technology-focused Hedge Fund Operations Tech Lead to join our multi-manager hedge fund, specializing in equities and listed derivatives. Our fund operates across European and North American markets, utilizing strategies including statistical arbitrage, fundamental long/short, and event-driven approaches. We aim for exceptional risk-adjusted returns through sophisticated risk management and cutting-edge technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the ongoing transformation from Excel-based processes to a comprehensive Microsoft Fabric environment.
  • Enhance the existing Microsoft Fabric data model, integrating diverse data sources such as Prime Broker statements, trading systems (e.g., Enfusion), and other internal and external platforms.
  • Develop and refine automated reconciliation logic and processes for trades, positions, prices, NAV, and cash management.
  • Build and enhance reporting capabilities using Power BI, ensuring timely and insightful analytics for portfolio managers and investors.
  • Automate data ingestion and validation from Prime Brokers, fund administrators, and other stakeholders.
  • Act as a technical liaison with external IT and development vendors, using them strategically for specialized implementations while maintaining direct involvement in hands-on development tasks.
  • Explore and implement innovative AI solutions, leveraging tools such as Azure AI Studio, and modern coding environments to improve workflow efficiency and accuracy.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, proactively evaluating and introducing new tools and methodologies to optimize hedge fund operations.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 3-6 years of professional experience, ideally in fintech, hedge fund operations, or a technology-focused role within finance.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and familiarity with data infrastructure and analytics platforms (particularly Microsoft Fabric and Power BI).
  • Demonstrated ability to automate and streamline operational processes, particularly reconciliations and data validations.
  • Some experience with financial instruments, trading systems (such as Enfusion), and prime broker operations is advantageous.
  • Proven curiosity and experience with contemporary AI technologies and tools to enhance development and operational efficiency.
  • Business proficiency in English.
